While working at Robert Couturier in NYC, Hyrel contributed to one of her first major projects—a transformative renovation of a historic Brooklyn brownstone for a family of four. This experience sparked her passion for historic architecture and design.

The remodel modernized the kitchen and several bathrooms while preserving the home’s architectural integrity. Original details were thoughtfully maintained and paired with contemporary finishes, creating a seamless blend of old-world charm and modern comfort.

Hyrel worked closely with Robert Couturier and architect Roque Rey at Couturier to remodel, furnish, and accessorize the entire home, ensuring a cohesive design throughout. The result is a warm, inviting space that honors the brownstone’s history while embracing the needs of modern family life—a hallmark of Hyrel’s approach to historic renovations.
